Beyond the tea sets and the long rows of clothing, the writer found a well-stocked book collection full of romance, biography, travel guides and 1970s Australiana cookbooks, with vintage furniture further back. Urban List gave the week as 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and until 2pm on Saturday; Lifeline Queensland counts it among 120-plus op shops across the state, with profits going to its 13 11 14 crisis line.

The club's website calls it the 2026 Annual Book Fair, promising thousands of books plus DVDs and CDs in every genre with free entry, and its news page traces the event back to an inaugural Northern Gold Coast fair in 2022 and a 2023 edition at the Oxenford and Coomera youth centre. The June 2026 run opened on Thursday the 11th and closed on Sunday the 14th after a two-hour morning session; the club had not posted a 2027 date by late September 2026.
