The 2025 edition had run on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 July in the same building, going by the organiser's own listing for that year. One wrinkle: the venue's Instagram post of 6 July 2026 advertised the sale as 9 to 11 July, a day longer than City Mission's event, so trust the charity's dates if the two disagree again.

The Friends of the Library in Launceston, a group formed in 1992, run the sale that Libraries Tasmania's page on them calls their main fundraiser, held each year in March with thousands of community-donated items at bargain prices. The 2026 edition used St Ailbe's Hall at 46 Margaret Street, roughly a kilometre south of central Launceston: Launceston Library announced it on Facebook on 5 March 2026 for Saturday 14 March, 9am to 1pm, and advised getting in early for the pick of it. The group's own event page promised crime, thrillers, fantasy, science fiction, romance, children's and teen titles, cooking, gardening, history, travel, war, transport, collectables and Tasmaniana, plus jigsaws, CDs and DVDs, with online payment accepted. The takings go back into library services around Launceston, and the group's Facebook page is where its next date and hall get announced.

By Kmart on Boland Street, 0.9 km from central Launceston with Shiploads as its next-door neighbour, Vinnies runs what it calls its Launceston Superstore. A store spotlight posted by Vinnies Shops Tasmania on Instagram on 9 January 2026 named books alongside clothing, accessories, furniture, electrical goods and homewares, said the shop has been at this address since 2019 and pointed to the parking out front. Vinnies' own shop page lists trading seven days, with a shorter Sunday, and closed on public holidays.
