About 200 metres west of The Book Man on the same avenue, an owner-run shop of rare and used books with vinyl records and CDs, credited by Tourism Chilliwack with a stock above 30,000 titles plus a standout children's collection. On July 9, 2025 a rooftop fire hit the apartments upstairs, and 89.5 JR Country reported that August on the owner's handwritten note: no fire damage, but water damage meaning a few walls and the floor had to be replaced. Fraser Valley News Network then reported the doors reopening on Saturday, September 6, 2025, in what it called the shop's 25th anniversary year, after a start in Sardis and a move to the edge of downtown. The club's BookSaleFinder listing promises upward of 70,000 donated books, puzzles and records, three quarters of the books in hardcover, sorted by category and priced from $1 to $4, with rare books on the tables, nothing picked over beforehand and no buyer restrictions. Its own sale page takes cash, debit or credit, turns away cheques and e-transfers, and accepts American cash at par.
